Magnus Steel carries a wide variety of floor grating types.

We supply floor grating in the following surfaces:

Our smooth, serrated and non-slip surface range is manufactured in a “pressure-locked” process.

MAGNUS STEEL TAILORED GRATING

Magnus Steel have various teams which are able to carry out tailored grating jobs to suit specific customer requirements.

We are able to offer you any technical advice that you may need before ordering, in order to provide the correct fabricated grating job.

We pride ourselves in quality and have strict quality control procedures that we follow.

Magnus Steel is able to offer the following in the sizes the customer requires:

  • Straight, rectangular and circular cut-out panels
  • Kickflat and angle sections welded on to grating cut-outs
  • Vastrap or Checkered plate cut-outs welded on to existing tailored grating panels
  • Grating with hinges, handles and locks

MAGNUS STEEL PRESSURE LOCKED GRATING

Magnus Steel’s Pressure Locked Grating is the most popular type of grating supplied to South African markets.

Pressure Locked Grating is engineered by inserting round bar into pre-punched holes through the bearer bars and permanently locking the round bar into place by a swaging process.

Pressure locked grating eliminates the need for any type of welding to form the panels.

Just like Welded Grating, The Flat Bar (or Bearer Bar) can be ordered with a smooth or serrated surface.

Pressure Locked Grating is available in the following panel sizes and can be supplied in Mild Steel, Galvanised, 3cr12, Stainless Steel and Aluminium.

Other sizes can be supplied and are made-to-order.  2400 X 1200 & 3000 X 1200

Grating Spec

MAGNUS STEEL PRESSURE LOCKED GRATING LOAD/SPAN TABLES

Grating Spec Sheet

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • LOAD: U = kg/m2, maximum allowable unfactored uniformly distributed loading for that stated span.
  • LOAD: C = kg/m, maximum allowable unfactored centre line load per metre.
  • For serrated grating, reduce tabulated allowable loads by 10% and maximum span per load category by 3.5%. Banding will increase mass by approximately 6% depending on grating configuration.
  • All table loadings to be taken as nominal and should not be used as guaranteed values.
  • Galvanising will increase stated mass per square metre by approximately 10%.
